Prunus armeniaca “Fireball” Dwarf

DESCRIPTION: Apricot “Fireball” Dwarf is a compact, deciduous fruit tree known for its abundant production of bright orange-red apricots. This variety is prized for its sweet, juicy flesh and vibrant color, making it a favorite for fresh eating, baking, and preserves.

MATURITY: This dwarf apricot tree reaches maturity and begins fruiting typically within 2-3 years after planting. The fruits ripen in mid to late summer, offering a bountiful harvest season.

SUGGESTED POLLINATORS: Although “Fireball” is self-fertile, planting it near other apricot varieties like “Goldcot” or “Moorpark” can enhance fruit set and yield.

TREE CARE: Plant in well-draining soil in a location that receives full sun. Water regularly, especially during dry spells, but avoid waterlogging. Prune annually during the dormant season to maintain shape and encourage new growth. Fertilize in early spring with a balanced, slow-release fertilizer to promote healthy development and fruit production.

MATURE SIZE: Apricot “Fireball” Dwarf typically grows to a height of 8-10 feet (2.5-3 meters) with a spread of 6-8 feet (1.8-2.5 meters), making it ideal for small gardens, patios, and container planting.
