Prunus armeniaca “Moorpark” Dwarf

DESCRIPTION: The Apricot “Moorpark” Dwarf is a compact, deciduous fruit tree known for its large, juicy, and flavorful apricots. This dwarf variety is ideal for smaller gardens and container growing, offering the same excellent fruit quality as the standard “Moorpark” in a more manageable size.

MATURITY: “Moorpark” Dwarf apricots typically mature and are ready for harvest in mid to late summer. The fruit is known for its rich, sweet taste and is perfect for eating fresh, canning, or making preserves.

SUGGESTED POLLINATORS: While “Moorpark” apricots are generally self-fertile, planting them near other apricot varieties such as “Tilton” or “Blenheim” can enhance fruit set and yield.

TREE CARE: Plant in well-draining soil with full sun exposure for optimal growth and fruit production. Regular watering is essential, especially during dry periods. Prune annually during the dormant season to maintain shape, encourage healthy growth, and improve air circulation. Fertilize in early spring with a balanced fertilizer to support robust growth and fruiting.

MATURE SIZE: The “Moorpark” Dwarf apricot tree typically reaches a mature height of 8-10 feet (2.4-3 meters) with a similar spread, making it suitable for small spaces and container planting.
