Garlic, renowned for its delicious flavor, serves as a rich source of Vitamins A, B1, B2, and C. Beyond its culinary appeal, it boasts medicinal benefits with established antibacterial and antifungal properties. Additionally, it functions as a beneficial companion plant for roses and fruit trees, effectively warding off pests like aphids and whiteflies.

When to plant: Autumn
Harvest: 7-8 months after planting, late Spring or Summer when leaves start to yellow and brown
How to plant:
– Full Sun to part shade
– 10-15cm apart, 5cm deep
– Break Garlic bulb into cloves whe nplanting
– Plant each clove with pointed end facing up
Care:
– Well draining soil to encourage bigger, better shaped bulbs
– Humus-rich soil, fresh compost/manure prior to planting
– Fertilise with Blood & Bone or palletised Chicken Manure at planting and after flowering
– Water regularly during growing season
– Mulch well
